My training, work experience and any achievement
- I have degree in Psychology, a Diploma and a Level 5 Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. - In addition, I have had several years training in Transactional Analysis, and Hypnotherapy.
- My experience covers over thirty years.
- Further, I also utilise Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
- Though Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is at the heart of my method, I do consider myself to be an eclectic therapist.
How Do I See Myself? How Do Others See Me? Who Am I Really? Who Do I Want To Be? Why Not Become That Person?
- All clients are individuals, and therefore require a tailored programme.
- That is, tailored to their individual needs.
- My approach is proactive; with the belief that client participation is generally necessary in order to reap benefits.
- However, I do understand that some clients require no more than to have somebody to discuss their problems with.
- Generally, however, I feel that it is paramount for a client to understand their personal cognitive dynamics.
- Both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis are ideal tools to use for that process.
Further Information
- I also work as a Psychology Tutor
- I am the developer and author of The Ultimate Smoking Cessation Course that combines Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, whilst leaning on Learning theory and Behavourist Psychology
- Wednesday & Thursday Evenings (19.30 - 21.30) I run groups. Two hour sessions @ £45.00 per session.
- These are ideal for people with all sorts of issues; social problems, relationship issues, stress, anxiety to name but a few.
- Transaction Analysis is the underlying method, but not entirely so.
- Seeing and interacting with others with similar issues in a safe and comfortable environment is frequently an ideal means of working through and resolving problems.
- It is very problematic trying to find a suitable Therapist or Counsellor; the possible options are daunting.
How do you know if you’ve made the right choice?
- We are all different and that goes for both Clients and Therapists.
- Will you have the necessary rapport with your new Therapist?
- He/She might be okay, but not quite right for you, for whatever reason.
Mistakes can be costly.
- And for that reason I offer a unique service for potential clients.
- Monday and Tuesday evenings between 6.00 pm & 7.30 pm I will make myself available to take informal, no obligation calls.
- During those calls you will have the opportunity to briefly state your issue and hear my response or ask relevant questions about me and what I have to offer you.
- Obviously, no in depth discussion can take place, so the calls will only last a few minutes each. But that should enable you to learn a lot more about me.
Anonymity is okay.
- You don’t have to tell me who you are and I will not try to sell you anything.
- The process is both free and painless.
I will be taking calls on both landline and Skype Video.
- The latter being beneficial to any who see Online Therapy as a way forward.
- The short call will help determine your impression as to the viability of the process itself and to the quality obtained by our mutual set-ups.
Lastly,
- I must mention domestic violence.
- This is one of the few situations where, for the victim, my Counselling Skills are more appropriate than Psychotherapy.
- Of course, the opposite is true for those who find themselves either being violent or are afraid that they are heading down that path.
- For the latter, immediate action is an imperative.
- I also understand that some victims in that situation cannot afford the fees of a Therapist or Counsellor.
However,
- what I can offer is a free session with those who were once victims and have been through the stress and difficulties encountered during the process of moving out of a violent household.
- They can describe their experiences and how they overcame them; from the perspective of a mother; the other a child, now grown up with her own family.
- Such meetings can be arranged to occur within a neutral meeting place such as a coffee house or cafe or similar.
